0115 - John Adam Abe - 11th VA Cavalry Records

Enlistment Record - Reported to 11th Virginia Cavalry on December 30, 1863 at Mt. Jackson, Virginia. Mt. Jackson is located along what is now Route 81 about halfway between Strasburg and Harrisonburg, Virginia. He was mustered in on January 1, 1864. Had his own horse when he reported.


Parole on April 20, 1865 from the 11th Virginia Cavalry at the end of the war.
Notice at the top, he is considered a prisoners of war before
the Oath of Allegiance was signed.

This is the actual paper that paroled John Adam Abe from military service 
at the end of the war.
