0116 - John Adam Abe Civil War Records


John Adam Abe - Citizen Arrest Record
Arrested on August 8, 1862 at his residence in Hampshire County, VA (now Mineral County, West Virginia by the 2nd Regiment, Maryland Infantry, Potomac Home Brigade.
Charges were for "Aiding the Rebels".
Age 17 1/2 years, Dark Complexion, Dark Hair, 5'8" tall, Black Eyes, No Whiskers

This is the outside cover of the following release paper. The record as can be seen was folded.

 Final P.O.W. Release Paper releasing him on December 22, 1862.

John Adam's signed statement promising to file a bond of $1000.00 with the Hampshire County Clerk of the County and repay the cost of his transportation from Wheeling, WV to Cumberland, MD...... all within 15 days of the December 23, 1862 date posted.
